Tell us about the unsung hero and what makes them deserving of this award (over the last 12 months) (250 words): Rex is a Life Member of our Club, The Taniwharau Rugby League Sports & Cultural Club and continues to volunteer his time into developing the game of Rugby League.
What organisation(s) have they provided their services to?: Waikato Rugby League
What is the impact of what they have implemented during the nomination period (in the last 12 months), or how have they been instrumental in creating change? (250 words): Rex has a wealth of Networks that he utilises to continue the upgrade of Davies Park.

The Waikato Grand Final was held at Davies Park this year, for the first time in a few years so it has been a sigh of relief to see Davies Park operating again.
How has their service been of benefit to the community or members in the last 12 months? (250 words): Rex not only mows the lawns, paints walls, marks out the field or scrubs the changing rooms, Rex is one of the first people you see as you enter Davies Park..

The Service at Davies Park is one of, if not the best Rugby League Grounds in the Waikato. It has a very proud and enriched History that dates back to the 1930s.
How do you know that the volunteer has created a positive experience? (organisational growth, feedback received from members, survey results etc) (250 words): By the number of whaanau, hapuu & Iwi that come to watch the great game of Rugby League, at the famous Davies Park.

The next generation (boys & girls) are always on the field during the breaks, showing off their skills and dreaming of their debut on Davies Parks,

It provides a sense of connection for whaanau.
